In 1998 I discovered the joys of Scuba while on holiday on Cayman Brac where I did my Open Water certification, my first ever wreck dive (dive 5) was on the MV Capt Keith Tibbets a 330 ft Russian Frigate, which at the time I didn't realise how special that was, talk about a good start to diving. Following a layoff due to my then job requiring me to travel a lot, I decided to pick up again and started diving here in the UK.

About the same time I started to be interested in the DIR approach to diving and I suppose similar to a lot of people moved to the "long hose" as a start, gradually having taken it on from there and recently started down the route of training with GUE, Global Underwater Explorers. As the Chinese say "the journey of a 1000 miles starts with a single step".

Probably my best diving was in 2004 with my wife Amanda, on our honeymoon in Tahiti, to be able to share the underwater world with someone special has to be one of lifes greatest pleasures. My ambition to dive with large Mantas was fulfilled on that trip. Here's a few pics from that superb trip.
